The Sustainable Origin Program is an initiative of the Brazilian Association of Leather, Shoes and Artifacts Components Companies (Assintecal) and the Brazilian Association of Footwear Industries (Abicalçados), which are currently responsible for the management of the certification.
After joining the program, the company commits itself to request the audit and receive certification within 12 months. However, the time varies according to the time invested by the company's team in gathering the evidence.
The investment of the companies varies according to the size (Micro/Small) and (Medium/Large), and also in relation to how the company manages to make deals during the audit stage.
The initial investment is only the membership fee: 900 BRL for Micro/Small Business and 1,500 BRL (Medium/Large)
It’s important to note that this amount is a one-time fee valid for two years, which is the duration of certification.
