What is Sustainable Origin?

A certification for Brazilian companies in the footwear production chain that incorporate sustainability in their production processes according to indicators in five dimensions: economic, environmental, social, cultural and sustainability management.

Companies that adhere to the Sustainable Origin Program have the opportunity to align their processes with internationally recognized indicators and will have additional opportunities in the export market to countries that have regulations oriented to the acquisition of sustainable products, driving the growth of the entire production chain.

The Sustainable Origin Program is managed by ABICALÇADOS - Brazilian Association of Footwear Industries and ASSINTECAL – Brazilian Association of Companies of Components for Leather, Footwear and Artifacts which, as managing entities, are responsible for the certification process linked to the Sustainable Origin Program.

At sustainable Origin, privacy and security are priorities.

Therefore, this Privacy Policy sets out how the collection, use and transfer of information from people who access or use our website and/or use our services is made.

By joining the program, you understand that we will eventually collect and use your personal information in the ways described in this policy, under the data protection regulations (LGPD, federal law 13.709/2018) and the other applicable Brazilian legal regulations.

What is the target audience of Sustainable Origin and what data is collected?

The program, being a certification aimed at Brazilian companies in the footwear production chain, relates directly to companies.

It has a B2B (Business to Business) activity, therefore, aimed at conducting business negotiations between companies, within the corporate universe and not with the final consumer.

In this sense, most of the data collected is business and not personal data.

However, some personal data is collected, even if in a small amount.

Such as: name, phone, CPF and email.

What is the purpose for data collection and how is this data collected?

The collection of personal data submitted to Sustainable Origin will be used to: respond to requests, assist in certification-related services, grant certification to the applicant company.

Personal information may be used in the following ways:

a) provide the services requested/contracted, which are provided to associated companies or not, are requested through natural persons who represent them (by phone or e-mail);

B) send email and administrative notifications, such as security or maintenance and security alerts;

c) to send newsletters, surveys, and/or other materials related to our services and other purposes, provided that you wish to receive them.

d) sign legal documents, such as: terms, contracts, authorizations, etc.;

The collection of this data occurs through exchanges of information with employees and representatives of companies associated with Abicalçados and Assintecal - adherents or in the process of certification - with employees and representatives of Abicalçados and Assintecal, as well as through people who access our website and request some information.

What is data processing?

Data processing is any operation carried out with personal data, such as: the collection, production, reception, classification, use, access, reproduction, transmission, distribution, processing, archiving, storage, elimination, evaluation or control of information, modification, communication, transfer, dissemination, or extraction.

What are the rights of the data subjects (data owners)?

The holder of the personal data collected may, at any time, request and obtain:

a) confirmation: right to be informed about the existence of processing of your data;

B) Access: right to request access to personal data processed by Abicalçados;

c) correction: right to request the modification of personal data processed by Abicalçados whenever they are incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated;

d) restriction: right to request the anonymization, blocking or deletion of unnecessary, excessive, or processed data by Abicalçados in non-compliance with personal data protection legislation;

E) deletion: right to request the deletion of personal data processed by Abicalçados and obtained through consent;

f) revocation of consent: the right to revoke the consent provided at any time, through express manifestation, by free and easy procedure.

In order to ensure your correct identification as the holder of the personal data subject of the request, it is possible that we request documents or other means that can prove your identity.

How and for how long will your data be stored?

The personal data collected by Sustainable Origin will be used and stored for the required time for the provision of the service or for the purposes listed in this Privacy Policy to be achieved, taking into consideration the rights of data subjects and controllers.

In general, your data will be retained as long as the relationship between you and Sustainable Origin lasts.

After the period of storage of personal data, these will be deleted from our databases or anonymized, subject to the hypotheses legally provided for in Article 16 General Data Protection Law, namely:

I-compliance with legal or regulatory obligation by the controller;

II-study by research entity and, whenever possible, guaranteed anonymization of personal data;

III-transfer to a third party, provided that the data processing requirements set out in this law are complied with; or

IV - exclusive use of the controller, barred its access by third parties, and provided anonymized data.

That is, personal information about you that is essential for the fulfillment of legal, judicial and administrative determinations and/or for the exercise of the right of defense in judicial and administrative proceedings will be kept, despite the exclusion of other data.

We employ technical protection measures and solutions to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and inviolability of your data.

In addition, we also have security measures appropriate to the risks and control of access to the information stored.

What do we do to keep your data safe?

To keep your personal information secure, we use physical, electronic and managerial tools geared towards protecting your privacy.

We apply these tools taking into account the nature of the personal data collected, the context and purpose of the processing and the risks that possible violations would generate for the rights and freedoms of the holder of the data collected and processed.

Among the measures we have adopted, we highlight the following: only authorized persons have access to your personal data; your personal data is stored in a safe and suitable environment.

Sustainable Origin is committed to adopting the best postures to avoid security incidents.

However, it is necessary to highlight that no virtual page is entirely safe and risk-free.

It is possible that, despite all our security protocols, problems of exclusively third-party fault occur, such as cyber-attacks by hackers, or also as a result of the negligence or recklessness of the user/customer himself.

In case of security incidents that could generate risk or damage relevant to any of our users, we will communicate to those affected and to the National Data Protection Authority about the incident, in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Law.

With whom can your data be shared?

Your data may be shared with our commercial partners, service providers, national or international, with government entities, with Abicalçados and with Assintecal, both being Program management entities.

They receive your data only to the extent necessary for the provision of the Contracted Services - Certification - and accountability and our contracts are guided by the data protection standards of the Brazilian legal system.

In addition, there are also other hypotheses in which your data may be shared, which are:

I-legal determination, request, requisition or court order, with competent judicial, administrative or governmental authorities.

II-corporate movements, such as merger, acquisition and incorporation, automatically

III-protection of the rights of Abicalçados in any type of conflict, including those of judicial content.

International Data Transfer

Some of the third parties mentioned in the above topic, with whom we share your data, such as: cloud information storage system (Google Drive), internal management system (podium), email marketing, have facilities located in foreign countries.

In these conditions, in any case, your personal data will be subject to the General Data Protection Law and the other Brazilian data protection laws.

In this sense, Sustainable Origin is committed to always adopt efficient cybersecurity and data protection standards, in the best efforts to ensure and comply with legislative requirements.
